The Golden Section
Balance and beauty in mechanical watchmaking

The Golden Section, also known as the Divine Proportion and famously seen in many technical sketches by
Leonardo da Vinci has been used for centuries by artists, architects and scientists alike as the definitive arbiter of
proportion, balance and beauty.
It is fascinating to note that the Golden Section can be seen time and time again in the natural world hence the term
"Divine Proportions".
The human eye appreciates objects of beauty and more often than not, without even realising it, if analysed, the object
in question would be found to naturally conform to the ratio of the Golden Section. The Golden Section is brought to bear
throughout the range, just as it would have been in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
